#2 – Mull it Over!

We associate so many things with smells. The smell of our grandmother’s kitchen, our childhood friend’s home and all the scents that go along with the holidays. For me, it’s the smell of spray snow that I used to put on the windows as a child and now my children have fun doing, and the smell of my mom’s mulled wine.

Now that I’m all grown up I enjoy making mulled wine and cider for my family and friends to share. Bring some along to your holiday party, new year’s celebration or winter festivities in our beverage box. I wrapped my boxes in kraft paper and added ribbon for a little garnish. If you’re hosting, no need to worry about finding carafes, just fill the box and set out on your buffet or cocktail table. And by the way, I timed myself, 15 minutes to garnish both boxes…this is something everyone can do!

The glorious aromas will fill your home and heart!

Nana B’s Mulled Wine:

1 cup sugar

3 cups boiling water

6 cinnamon sticks

rind of 1/2 lemon

18 whole cloves

2 bottles of wine

Dissolve sugar in boiling water. Add lemon rind, cloves and cinnamon sticks. Boil for 15 minutes. Strain into another pot. Add wine. Heat to piping hot but do not boil. Enjoy!
