We like to think we are always giving you some new ideas, but lately we had a lot of new visitors to our site, thanks to giveaways and some features in magazines, and we find ourselves wanting to share these oldie but goodies! And even as we go through our archives, we get excited about past ideas.  So forgive us for the repeats, but we still get inspired by them and hope you will too!

The holiday season means it is time for lots of fun drinks and cocktails.  And, it is the only time of year you find eggnog.  We came up with a unique way to serve this festive drink…our plastic milk bottles.

How cute would these be on Christmas morning?  All it took was some red felt, glue dots and a pair of scissors.  We love to use felt because it doesn’t fray on the edges.  Just snip two cuts on the side to slide in your straw.  And you don’t have to limit this to eggnog…you could make up some mimosas for holiday brunch, or apple cider for a skating party. What’s your favorite holiday cocktail?

I mean really….who doesn’t love a party?  Whether it’s an impromptu Friday night get together with pizza, or a fancy schmancy holiday shindig…Garnish has everything you need to celebrate!

We admit, we kinda got this idea from the talk show “Live With Kelly and Michael”.  When they do their host chat and trivia questions, they have these confetti sticks that they toss.  Well, you don’t actually throw the stick, just shake it to get the confetti out.  We Garnished it up, of course, using our clear candy tubes.  We used some fun colored sequins that we found in a big tub at the craft store.  We then got out our craft punch and metallic markers and made some tags.  Finally we used rubber bands to attach the tags.  Rubber bands are great because they don’t fall off.  It would be awesome if you could find metallic ones (and if you do, let us know where!).  Now you’re all set for sparkly fun times!

Do you have a birthday party, shower, pot luck or picnic on the horizon? Why not have some fun with confetti!

We glued some confetti onto our glassine bags and used them as cutlery pouches.  So cute, right?  Or what about sending some favors home in our burlap bags, decked out in confetti of course.  We didn’t use any special tools here…just a hole punch to make our confetti and a glue stick to attach them.  This is a perfect project for the kiddos to get involved in.  So go ahead…have some fun with confetti!

We will admit, this is not our idea.  We’ve seen a few of these types of favors floating around Pinterest and the internet.  We think it’s a fantastic idea for a baby shower favor, so we decided to put our Garnish spin on it.  If the mommy-to-be knows if she’s having a boy or a girl you can choose the appropriate color of nail polish for your favors.  If she doesn’t, then you can put out a selection of both, maybe with a question mark on the label.

We used our small acetate boxes for this idea.  They are the perfect size for a bottle of nail polish and some nail polish remover wipes (easily found at CVS or Target).  We, of course, filled ours with some candy! Add some ribbon and a round label, and you’ve got yourself a super fun giveaway!  Some other ideas might be to tie a nail file of top, or to add some of those solid colored M&M’s.  If you are looking for some gender neutral colors of nail polish…what about a selection of gray (super in right now) and orange or even brown.  Either way, we’re sure you will “nail” it! (sorry, that was cheesy….but we couldn’t help ourselves)

We are always on the lookout for unique favor ideas, whether it’s for a wedding, birthday or shower.  This time, we’re thinking weddings, and we’re thinking it’s about time you went home with something you can actually use!

Everyone loves coffee, and it makes a  unique and inexpensive favor.  And, of course, it looks fab in our tie top bags, labelled with one of our scalloped stickers.  “The Perfect Blend” is just thing to celebrate the happy couple!

Sometimes going simple is best.  We were digging through our stamp stash and found this “thank you” stamp we’ve had for years (we purchased this at Paper Source.  They no longer stock this one on their website, but they do have similar ones).

This simple stamp on our kraft rectangle box, makes such a chic statement for a party favor.  We added some of our brown and white twine to finish it off.  There are so many fun stamps available, and they are the perfect way to personalize any of our Garnish products.

Seri, from Little Miss Party, sent us this link to an amazing bachelorette she threw for her sister.  The theme was based around the summer camp they used to spend summers at when they were kids.

We love the idea (and not just because she is a fellow Canadian gal transplanted to the US, like us)!  What made it even more appropriate for the day was that her sister’s fiancee proposed at that summer camp.  Thank you for sharing Seri…you can check out the full blog post here.

Seri used our wooden berry baskets and no soup for you containers.

30 May 2012

The end of the school year is approaching very quickly.  In fact, in some parts of the country, your children may already be on summer vacation.  Well, if you are in need of a teacher’s gift, we have an idea for you.  What about some jam and scones?!

If you are really ambitious, you can and your children can make some homemade jam.  Refrigerator jam is quick and easy to make yourself.  You can pick up some yummy scones at your local bakery or supermarket (or make those yourself too!).  And if you want to add a little something extra, what about a gift card to a coffee shop.  We used our small no soup for you container for the jam, our french fry scoop and a cello bag for the scones and we put it all inside one of our berry baskets.

This is also a great favor for a bridal shower, or a BBQ with friends.

Whether you are looking for a party favor, or just want to Garnish the everyday (our favorite!), tea and cookies is always a welcome gift.

We’ve made this one to go…all they need to do is add water.  We’ve included a tea bag and two cookies in our glassine bag.  Attach your treat and a spoon with some twine to our ripple cup.  That’s all you need.  Now, someone special can have a break at the office, or a fun treat when they get home.
