Little boys that is!  They deserve to have a fun, boy themed party take away too.  Whether you’re hoping to keep small hands busy, or just want to give a big thanks for coming to the party, we’ve got a cute idea for you.

Bulldozers, band-aids and scary dinosaurs are packaged up in our cardboard berry basket.  Not only is it super sweet, it’s got a handle for easy carrying. Here’s a hint…to get the handles to stand perfectly upright, just use a hairdryer to heat them up a bit so you can shape them into place.

Is it the middle of May already?!  Time to start thanking those men and women who spend all day with your children…their teachers.

We found this very cute apple scrub brush in the dollar bin, and it was the jumping off point for this fun gift.  Along with a cute tea towel and mini size soap, we put in a well deserved gift card.  And of course, we just had to use our new paper card sleeve and oval label to jazz it up.  Our cardboard clamshell keeps everything where it should be on the bus ride to school.  We think your child’s teacher will appreciate this one!

What do you like to give as a gift to the teacher?  Do you have a go-to gift or an idea you’d like to share?  Leave us a comment….we’d love to hear from you!

We have lots of fun thinking of different ways you can use Garnish.  We try to think “outside the box” and show that a berry basket just isn’t for berries, or our No Soup For You container just isn’t for soup!  Today we have parties on the brain….

It’s hard to come up with new ideas for party favors, especially for the kiddos.  While browsing the dollar bin at Target, we were struck with some fun ideas.  How about sand toys?  Target has some great colors, and they are only 99 cents each!  So much better than candy, right?  The perfect tote for these goodies is our two for the road drink carrier (see…it’s not just for drinks!)  We added a tag that we printed off on the computer, some bubbles wrapped in patterned paper, and this favor is ready for the taking.

What do you like to give out as favors at your parties?  Do you have a go to idea that you want to share?  Tell us how you Garnish…we’d love to hear!

Temperatures are warming up and Spring is definitely in the air!  It’s time for some fun with flowers (albeit the faux kind).

We gave some Spring flourish to our paper cones by adding some pretty flowers and ribbon.  Perfect for hanging in the window, a doorknob or anywhere you want to feel a little sunshine.  How about adding some flowers to our white box?  Just punch some holes in the top, add your favorite flowers and some ribbon.  Who wouldn’t want to receive a gift this pretty!

Enjoy your Easter weekend, and pass on those leftover jelly beans to us :)

26 March 2013

Last week we used some puffy paint on our french fry scoops…today we are showing you some Garnish’ed burlap bags.

Puffy paint is perfect for this project.  It dries shiny and flexible so the bag is not stiff when you tie it up.  Let your imagination go wild…flowers, stripes, chevron, polka dots…whatever is your favorite.  You can use these as favor bags for a party, gift card holders or even to gift some pretty jewelry.

Easter gifts don’t always have to be about candy, so why not try something new this year.

How cute are these pencils in our clear candy tube?  We also tied on some fun Easter erasers in our medium glassine bag.  You can always find stuff like this in the dollar bin at Target or Michaels.  Don’t forget to sharpen those pencils before you wrap them up…it makes it easier for everyone!

6 February 2013

Sometimes it’s hard to think of a Valentine that is perfect for everyone is your child’s class.  Goodness knows they will get tons of candy, so eliminate the sugar rush with something cute and practical.

How about these fun tissues.  Great for girls or boys, and even teacher too!  We have used our large glassine bag to package the tissues up extra special.  Add some fun tape and twine, or how about a handwritten note from your child.  Garnish is your blank canvas to make Valentine’s Day s-weeeet!

19 December 2012

We are less than a week to Christmas!  Yikes!  Are you still picking up last minute gifts?  Well, if you are looking for a way to make that gift card look special, we’ve got just the thing.  Why not use our kraft treat bag

All we did was add a DIY snowflake to our kraft treat bag, tied on a little red and white twine, and now it looks special!  We used this tutorial for our snowflake (yes, we had to look it up on the internet…can you believe we don’t know how to do these!).  We found that a 5″ square worked best for this project.  You could jazz up your snowflake with a little bit of glitter, or let little hands be creative with crayons, markers or even stickers.  A great way to personalize a gift for the teacher, bus driver or babysitter!

Garnish + Happy Holidays!

Here at Garnish, we believe that gift baskets need not be boring.  Long gone are the days of packaged cheese, crackers and cocktail franks!  Garnish is the perfect blank canvas to bring out your inner crafty.  Cyd, from The Sweetest Occasion is getting her gift basket on…just check out her blog post here.

Cyd used our kraft wine box as a blank canvas for her creations.  Using some simple craft items like stamps, washi tape and ribbons, she created one of a kind gifts for everyone on her list.  Be sure to check out the full blog post here for more details on the how-to.  Thanks Cyd for showing us how you Garnish!

29 November 2012

Today’s holiday treat is a fun one.  We were inspired by the fun little spatula that we found at Target that was less than $2.  Next we found some holiday duct tape in our stash.  You can find these patterned duct tapes everywhere now, and they are a fun way to personalize your Garnishes!

We used this recipe for gingerbread mix and put some inside our small gable box (inside a bag of course!) printing out the baking instructions on a card.  We wrapped the duct tape around the box, slid in the spatula and tied it all up with some red and white bakery twine.  Wouldn’t this be a fun teacher gift? How about leaving it inside your mailbox for a sweet surprise for your mail carrier?  Either way, it’s sure to put a smile on someone’s face this holiday season.

Garnish + Enjoy
