16 Days people….that’s right.  Christmas is just around the corner!  Now don’t forget the hardest working man this season…Santa!  Trust us, he will love some Garnish’ed up cookies and milk at your house.  Here’s a spread that we think he will enjoy.

We put some cookies in our flat treat bags.  Be sure to leave more than one.  You know, Santa has some elves helping out that are probably famished too!  And don’t forget a little something for Rudolph, Blitzen, Comet and the others.  Some reindeer food packaged up in our glassine bags is just the thing.  We just printed off the bags on our printer, it was super easy! And we all know that Santa is uber busy on Christmas Eve, so put that milk or hot cocoa into one of our to go cups…I’m sure that sleigh has cup holders!

This made us think of when we were in grade school and living in Switzerland.  We used to leave our shoes by the fireplace with carrots in them.  When Santa came, he would take the carrots for his reindeer and leave us some candy in our shoes to thank us.  What kind of traditions do you have at Christmas?  We would love to hear some of them!

Today we are posting  a great nugget from our Ideas page.  Have you checked it out.  If you can’t find the inspiration you are looking for on the blog, you can check out our Ideas for a few more.  A unique favor to give out at a party is a CD of your favorite music. If you are having a Christmas party, why not send them home with a groovy mix of holiday tunes (we are SO loving She & Him‘s holiday album right now).  Or, if you are throwing a New Year’s bash…what about some 70′s and 80′s tunes…everybody always knows the words!

You can package it all up in our iBop CD case.  Don’t forget to include a list of the songs and artists, and if you’re super crafty, you can make up a fun label for the CD and cover.  What are your favorite holiday songs…..do you go old school or like the reinvented classics?

It’s always fun to server a signature cocktail at your holiday party (or any party for that matter).  Of course, you can always serve the usual wine and beer, but having a themed cocktail prevents you from having to mix up drinks all night!  We used our mini plastic cups to serve up these libations….

To make everything a little bit more festive we rimmed our cups in some colored sugar and added one of our striped paper straws.  This mini size would even been perfect for a glam jello shooter too.  Everything is always so much more fun when you add a little Garnish!  What’s your favorite holiday cocktail?

Have you heard of Elf On The Shelf?  Do you do Elf On The Shelf with your children?  We have been seeing so many fun ideas with this little elf all over the internet.  So we were thrilled when Monica sent us her way to do Elf On The Shelf…

Monica used so many of our Garnish products….nut and party cups, paper straws, wooden cutlery, ripple cups and white cups.  Here is what she had to say…

Just wanted to let you know I loved the items I purchased from you site. I have two young kids and we are starting a new North Pole breakfast tradition for the morning after we trim our tree. Also a day to introduce our Elf on the Shelf. It was a success and super cute thanks to your products. We had a small cocoa bar, gingerbread muffins, pancakes, and homemade marshmallows. The kids especially loved the ripple cups! My daughter had four cups of cocoa :) Here are a couple of pictures of our table. Thanks again!

Monica

We are so happy that Garnish could play a part in a new tradition in your family.  We have always said that Garnish is about creating moments….this is truly what we’re all about!

Everyone seemed to love our chocolate spoons…so we have another idea.  Take a look at these marshmallows on a stick!  We used our paper straws to do the dipping this time.

We used the same technique as the spoons.  First we melted some chocolate in a bowl.  Then we stuck our marshmallows on the straws and dipped them in the chocolate and some sprinkles.  The marshmallows will melt in your hot cocoa, leaving some yummy, ooey, gooey goodness!

By now you probably know that we love our local Trader Joe’s.  They always have fun treats and we love their packaging.  We are SO about the packaging…obviously!  So we gave ourselves a challenge….one up Trader Joe’s!

We remember getting these chocolate oranges as kids.  You bang them on the table and the all the sections break apart…so fun! And we thought, you can go with this…

Or you can go with that!  A little personalization goes a long way.  These are the perfect fit for our cello cupcake bags.  We used an oval kraft label, and our son’s construction paper (shhh…don’t tell!) to make some holly.  Add a witty saying, and we definitely think we one upped Trader Joe’s.  What do you think?

Here’s the problem…you just got invited last minute for holiday cocktails…what to do?  You know your hosts are already going to receive a dozen bottles of wine, you want to do something different.  Here’s the solution….cookies the Garnish way.

This time of year it’s always good to have a stash of treats and Garnish in the pantry.  We got these delectable cookies at Trader Joe’s…and low and behold, the package fit perfectly into our pint size rectangle berry box (was meant to be, obviously!).  During the holidays season, grocery stores and your local food shops always have a good mix of yummies…and with a little repackaging, they look fab!  Of course, if you have homemade on hand…that’s great too!  We added some felt and holiday ribbon. Now all that is left to do is slip the whole thing into one of our cello bags and you are good to go!

The holiday season means it is time for lots of fun drinks and cocktails.  And, it is the only time of year you find eggnog.  We came up with a unique way to serve this festive drink…our plastic milk bottles.

How cute would these be on Christmas morning?  All it took was some red felt, glue dots and a pair of scissors.  We love to use felt because it doesn’t fray on the edges.  Just snip two cuts on the side to slide in your straw.  And you don’t have to limit this to eggnog…you could make up some mimosas for holiday brunch, or apple cider for a skating party. What’s your favorite holiday cocktail?

Now that Thanksgiving is over, you know those holiday parties are going to start up.  Are you looking for a way to make yours extra special?  Why not add a little Garnish!  Sending your guests away with a treat leaves a smile on their face and something yummy to eat. We were trying to think of something  different, and we thought….doughnuts!

We packaged these up in our new ripple no soup for you containers.  This is the perfect morning treat for the next day or even a midnight snack.  In fact, some of your guests might not even make it home with out munching up all these yummies!  What will you be giving your guests this year?
