Never fails….birthday parties roll around and we can never figure out what to give as a favor.  When the littlest man in the house turned 7, we had a fun idea!

We went to the dollar store, picked up some fun trinkets (and ring pops…Mr. Man’s favorite) and put them all inside our small no soup for you containers.  We made a cute handle using some colorful string.  Just cut a hole in the lid, fold your length of string in half and tie a knot in the end.  Then pull the loop up through the lid.  Finally  we added an oval sticker announcing that Aaron was “headin’ into 7″.

6 February 2014

We had a big dump of snow yesterday, again (have we mentioned that we are SO ready for winter to be over!).  But snow days mean we have time to bake some cupcakes…the perfect Valentine’s Day treat.

We used our cupcake cello bags, of course, to hold these yummies. Here’s a hint, add some fun Valentine’s Day candy to the bottom of the bag to kick this gift up a notch!  Finally, we added a cute tag and some red and white baker’s twine.  Now the problem is, how do we stop ourselves from eating the whole batch?!

30 January 2014

We would comment on how quickly January has flown by, but it’s been so cold outside, we’re happy to be that much closer to spring!  It also means that Valentine’s Day is on its way! Garnish is the perfect blank canvas for packaging up treats for your sweetheart, classmates and even something for the teacher.

We found this fun heart shape pie mold at Target.  With some ready made pie crust and some yummy cherry filling, these hand pies are perfect for gifting for Valentine’s Day.  We used our kraft treat bags which are just the right size.  We added some paper hearts and trimmed the top with some craft scissors.  How fun would these be for breakfast on February 14th, the kiddos can grab these for the bus ride to school.

The Superbowl is this weekend, and that always means the best munchies.  Here are some ideas we’ve had in the past that will work perfect for football, or really any get together at all.

Our Garnish version of nachos, is to give everyone their own serving.  Our baking cups are just the right size for individual portions.  Just load up your nachos the way you want, sprinkle on some cheese.  Then put the baking cups onto a cookie sheet and pop them in the oven.

Who doesn’t love a baked potato?  Just put out all the fixin’s and serve the potatoes in our wooden serving boats.  Yum!

Finally we’ve got a Garnish popcorn bar.  You can put out some toppings in our small ripple cups so your guests can dress up their own servings of popcorn.  Think parmesan cheese, cinnamon sugar or even some flavored oils.  Just use some of our large wooden cones or paper lunch bags to hold this yummy treat.

Now we are definitely drooling…can’t wait for Sunday!

16 January 2014

For this post, we were inspired by the Garnishes featured in the January/February 2014 issue of Martha Stewart Living.  We combined a couple of the looks to come up with our own gift for someone who is feeling a little under the weather.

We used our two for the road drink carrier to hold a jar of chicken noodle soup on one side, and some hearty bread on the other side.  We put the mini baguette into one of our glassine bags tied with some black and white bakers twine.  We also used the bakers twine to attach some wooden cutlery to our package.

A big thank you to Martha Stewart Living for continuing to show us how you Garnish and for always giving us some inspiration for our own projects!

20 December 2013

Melissa just sent us an email showing us how she Garnish’ed her 12 year old daughter’s birthday party.

How cute is the idea for cupcakes and ice cream?  Melissa used our small kraft ripple no soup for you containers for the ice cream.  She also used them to hold all the toppings so the girl’s could personalize their own treats.  The mini milk jugs are just the right size to hold the ever important sauce.  Finally, she made sure the girls had our cute wooden demi tasse spoons so they could enjoy their cupcakes and ice cream to go.  Thanks for sharing Melissa, we love to see how you Garnish!

So what are your holiday ideas…do you want to share?  Send us your pictures and you will see them here on our blog :-)

16 December 2013

We are scurrying around trying to get ready for Christmas…but we always have time for a quick post.  And this one is perfect for those last minute gifts.  Appropriately…it involves coffee, which you probably feel like you need a whole pot of by now! Have you picked up some of our coffee clutches?  They are so much fun.

If you are giving out some coffee gift certificates this holiday (cause..who doesn’t love Starbucks!), why not gift them in our paper coffee cups with a personalized coffee clutch.  Whew!  That was a mouthful!  You can stamp the recipient’s name, add some ribbon or why not have your child draw a picture on their teacher’s coffee clutch.  There are so many possibilities, and we promise, they will be quick and easy!

10 December 2013

We like to think we are always giving you some new ideas, but lately we had a lot of new visitors to our site, thanks to giveaways and some features in magazines, and we find ourselves wanting to share these oldie but goodies! And even as we go through our archives, we get excited about past ideas.  So forgive us for the repeats, but we still get inspired by them and hope you will too!

The holiday season means it is time for lots of fun drinks and cocktails.  And, it is the only time of year you find eggnog.  We came up with a unique way to serve this festive drink…our plastic milk bottles.

How cute would these be on Christmas morning?  All it took was some red felt, glue dots and a pair of scissors.  We love to use felt because it doesn’t fray on the edges.  Just snip two cuts on the side to slide in your straw.  And you don’t have to limit this to eggnog…you could make up some mimosas for holiday brunch, or apple cider for a skating party. What’s your favorite holiday cocktail?

6 December 2013

It’s a true Flashback Friday as we dig into the Garnish vaults today.  This idea is from 2011, but we felt it was too good not to share again.

These chocolate dipped marshmallows are just the thing to add to your hot chocolate…perfect for chilly afternoons or a cozy night by the fire.  Best part is, they’re super easy to do.  First choose some festive paper straws and stick on some marshmallows.  Next, melt some chocolate chips in the microwave.  Finally, dip your marshmallows in the chocolate then roll them in some colorful sprinkles.  Voila!

These are perfect for gifting too.  Just tie them up inside a cello bag with some twine.  You can even add a holiday mug and a package of hot chocolate.  Just the gift for the teacher, bus driver or your mail carrier.

Garnish + Enjoy
