Here is our second post all about bags….Garnish ones that is! We are always looking for something different to send our guests home with, and we found these pizzelles at our local grocery store. They are the perfect treat, and wouldn’t you know…fit right into our cello bags!
Set some in the large loaf pan and put out a few of our new bamboo tongs. Then all you need to do is leave out some bags and twine. Your guests can do the rest…and that’s so much easier for you. Don’t you think? The question is, how many of these will be eaten on the car ride home?

We are back from school vacation…bags unpacked, laundry done…now ready to get our Garnish on! This week’s posts are all about the bag…no, not Louis or Gucci, but the variety of bags we stock here at Garnish. We have all shapes and sizes, glassine, cello, paper, you take your pick. We’ve also added a new one to our line up…so stay tuned and you’ll see it later this week.
Today we are featuring our glassine bags. They are perfect for sandwiches on the go, or on the buffet table!
We have labelled these ones with our round kraft labels, so you know what you’re getting. You can stack them up in our cardboard berry boxes, and your guests, or family, can choose what they like. How easy is that?

I have a feeling that this week is going to be “heart” themed, as we’re getting close to Valentine’s Day! So here is our first post of “how to do a heart” for the special day. This one is super fun, and best of all, super easy! All you need is some construction paper (raid your child’s craft bin), some glue dots (or a glue stick, or tape if that’s all you have), a pair of scissors and some of our red stripe or polka dot straws.
Simply cut out a heart. Do it the old fashioned way by folding the paper in half…that’s the easiest way. Then put a glue dot on each corner of the heart, and simply slide in the straw. That’s it! You could add some stickers, or someone’s name. These would be really cute to give out in your child’s class as part of their valentines. Everyone will look adorable drinking their milk at lunchtime.
Stay tuned to see how we do a heart next time ♥

We are sensing a theme here…two melted cheese posts in a row! Can you tell what we’re craving? This is another idea for Superbowl Sunday. Everyone loves nachos, but they are kind of a hard thing to serve to a crowd, so why not give everyone their own serving?
Our baking cups will offer up a generous serving of nachos, and they are rigid, so they are easy to hold in your hand. Just load up a bunch with your favorite fixin’s and put them in the oven. These will definitely be a hit at the buffet line….go Pats!

That’s right…Superbowl is right around the corner! In this neck of the woods, New England, it’s a BIG deal because the Patriots are going to the big game in Indianapolis. And whether or not you like football, everyone loves the food served at Superbowl parties. When you need to serve a crowd, chili is always a great choice.
And it looks even better when served up in our small ripple bowls. You can dish it out ahead of time and put a lid on it. When everyone is ready to eat they can add some cheese or sour cream and grab a spoon. Of course, we had to personalize ours with a shout out to our team!
What’s your favorite thing to nosh on during Superbowl? Do you have any fun traditions? Leave us a comment and let us know!

It’s always hard to find new, inventive ways to feed a crowd. We’ve all done the chili, or burgers or a big pot of stew…but what about a potato buffet? Baked potatoes are the easiest thing in the world to make, and will definitely feed your hungry guests!
All you really need is some baking potatoes and something to top them with. We chose some sour cream, bacon, cheese, green onions, broccoli and even some mushrooms. Our baking cups and small no soup for you containers are perfect for the toppings, and our wooden boats are just the right size for the potatoes. What are your favorite toppings for baked potatoes?

You know how when you’re in line at the buffet table, and you start to panic because you don’t know how you are going to hold everything in your hands all at once? Well, we have a solution…cutlery pockets! They have everything you need, all in one place.
We used our small kraft bags as our “pocket”. First we cut the tops off with some fancy scissors so that you could see the cutlery sticking out. Next, we filled two of our small glassine bags with salt and pepper. We also stamped on the glassine bags, but if you don’t have stamps, don’t worry…it’s pretty self explanatory what’s inside! Then we just stacked them on top of each other and stapled them to the kraft “pocket”. We used one of those no staple staplers because we don’t actually have a normal stapler. See…Garnish is all about using what you have…no worries! Finally, we stuffed our napkin, cutlery and straw inside.
Here’s a tip…place your cutlery at the end of the buffet line. That way your guests are not having to juggle it while trying to load up their plates with food. This is a perfect idea for when you have a crowd over to watch the big game.

Today’s post is super fun! Remember pixie sticks? Well, you can make your own, and it’s SUPER easy! And at holiday time they make the perfect stocking stuffer, party favor or present topper. Here’s how you do it. Mix one cup of sugar with one package of unsweetened drink mix (like Koo-Aid). Next, get a bunch of our paper straws, fold over one edge of the straw so the filling doesn’t come out. We made a funnel out of paper to fill our straws, but if you have one that is small enough that would work great. Finally, fold over the top edge of the straw. That’s it!
The best thing is that you can make all kinds of flavors! One cup of sugar will fill up lots of straws, but you can easily adjust the recipe to suit however many you want to make. And remember, this is a great idea for anytime of year, and really inexpensive. Could be fun for a birthday party, picnic or even a special treat any night of the week. What flavors will you be mixing up?

We have shown you several variations of this idea. And, at holiday time, this is one of our favorite giveaways for our party guests. After a late night (and perhaps a cocktail or two), the last thing you want to make for yourself in the morning is breakfast. So why not send your guests away with something to relieve those hunger pangs come morning.
This time we used one of our squat gable boxes to contain these yummies. We put some cereal into our small no soup for you container, added some corn muffins in our glassine bag and made sure to put in a spoon as well. We were going to put milk into the small plastic bottle, but it might be out of the fridge longer than it should be, so we filled it up with juice instead. Finally, we added a pretty napkin and a fun tag (finally, we found a use for all the fun tags we found months ago!). Maybe if you have your guests over in the afternoon you could send them home with the fixings for dinner instead. You can tailor this gift however you like, and either way, your guests will definitely appreciate it!
