Let it be known that at Garnish…we love a good french fry.  You know the kind that are crunchy on the outside but soft in the middle.  Maybe with a side of mayo and a Diet Coke (excuse us as we wipe up the drool off the keyboard).  Our love of the fry definitely was influential in acquiring the latest new Garnish, the fry scoop.

Well, wouldn’t you know, when we saw page 61 of this month’s Food Network magazine, we saw a different kind of fry that was perfect for our new fry scoop…..a pie fry!  They looked so yummy, we decided to make them ourselves and Garnish it up!

Step 1: Unroll your favorite refrigerated pie crust, and cut it into strips.  We used a fancy waffle cutter, but a plain old knife will work just fine.

Step 2: Brush your dough with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.  Bake at 375F for 15 minutes, or golden brown.

How yummy do they look?  Seriously, it was that easy.  Just put a few into our fry scoop, (we used a sheet of our waxed tissue to make it look extra fancy) and serve them up with a side of strawberry jam in our squeeze bottle.  A fun after school snack, dessert or anytime you have a fixin’ for some fries!

Garnish + Enjoy

The love (dare I say, obsession) with packaging has been there for many years, but it all came to a head during the holidays of ’06. My youngest of three boys was barely 2 months old and while I birthed him, he birthed in me a huge creative streak. (more…)
