Today’s holiday treat is a fun one.  We were inspired by the fun little spatula that we found at Target that was less than $2.  Next we found some holiday duct tape in our stash.  You can find these patterned duct tapes everywhere now, and they are a fun way to personalize your Garnishes!

We used this recipe for gingerbread mix and put some inside our small gable box (inside a bag of course!) printing out the baking instructions on a card.  We wrapped the duct tape around the box, slid in the spatula and tied it all up with some red and white bakery twine.  Wouldn’t this be a fun teacher gift? How about leaving it inside your mailbox for a sweet surprise for your mail carrier?  Either way, it’s sure to put a smile on someone’s face this holiday season.

Today is Friday the 13th, and we don’t think it’s unlucky at all!  In fact, Friday is the perfect time to give you a new idea, that you can try out at Saturday morning’s breakfast.

We showed you a similar idea during Random Acts of Garnish, but we’ve taken it a bit further.  Why not surprise everyone at breakfast with a few phrases…that they have to spell out!  Nothing like getting those juices flowing in the am…

Garnish kraft gable box

We simply printed out the instructions onto one of our clear round labels and attached it to one of our small gable boxes.  Just the perfect size for some alphabet cookies (you can find them at Trader Joe’s if you have one close by).

Now it’s time for the unscrambling!  Hopefully someone else is making breakfast so you can enjoy a cup of coffee while you help everyone out!

What a fun idea for a friends’ brunch, bridal shower, birthday party or just everyday!  Because really, isn’t that what Garnish is about…

Happy Wednesday!  Today’s entry comes from Jaime, a dedicated mom who home schools her children.  She thought it would be a fun surprise to leave something on their desk filled with their favorite candy.

Jaime used one of our small white gable boxes as a blank canvas for her creativity.  Be sure sure to check out her blog, The Baeza Blog, for more fun stuff.

Don’t forget to leave a comment for your chance to win a $15 Garnish gift certificate!
